(Continued from "Thoughts Have Wings," Part II) The Source of Demonic Voices The flow of thoughts from the collective thoughts of all to the minds of individuals can be likened to the flow of electrical current that come into homes and buildings from the electrical grid. Under normal conditions, the collective thoughts and electrical current both serve useful purposes and make life comfortable. When there is a surge in the flow of electricity, however, the current can cause considerable damage to the equipment and appliances it operates. The flow of thoughts can also be likened to television or radio programming. You receive different programming by tuning to different channels or stations. With collective thoughts, however, what people tune to and attract into their minds is determined by their own thoughts. Negative and destructive thoughts surge into the minds of people in severe cases, causing serious damage or harm to them. In such cases, the people can be observed in conversation with some invisible being. They hear "voices" and are judged mentally ill. They can be paralyzed by fear of impending danger from these voices that others can't hear. As I said earlier, thoughts can be as audible and powerful as the spoken word. You probably have heard stories about people who claim that God ordered them to commit murder or other violent actions. "God told me to do it," they claim, or "I heard voices telling me to do it." The religious person would probably point a finger in the other direction and say, "He's possessed by demons or the devil." Both of these assertions are in error. The Infinite force we call God will not tell anyone to commit murder or any other violent action against another person if he is the loving, caring God that he is generally believed to be. People create their own demons, which exist only as the destructive thoughts in their minds. It is clear, then, that in addition to scientific explanations for mental and other illnesses, there is also a nonscientific explanation. Fortunately, just as electrical surges can be corrected, the surge of thoughts can be restored to a normal state by both medical and non-medical means. The non-medical means include changing a person's thought patterns through one of many exercises. Some of the exercises in Seeds of Luck, in addition to the purpose for which they were given in that book, can help purge people of impurities of mind and body, and help them maintain good physical and mental health. Proper breathing techniques are suitable for this purpose. Different exercises help us to shield ourselves from the negative and destructive thoughts of others, and still more exercises help us to attract positive thoughts.
