THE INDELIBLE MEMORY
Where Does It Go Following Death? Part I

Where do the dead really go? Is there a single place where the dead go and live after life on Earth? Are there a heaven, hell and purgatory? If so, where are they -- high in the skies, deep in space, or here on Earth? If there are no heaven, hell, and purgatory, then where do we go when we die?

As human beings, we have pondered these and many questions at some point in our lives about what happens when we leave the Earth. Virtually all religions have some explanation of what they believe happens at the end of our life on Earth. There are those who subscribe to the belief in the concept of heaven and hell. Among these people are those who believe that the dead remains in the grave until a resurrection day when the dead would come back to life to be judged. Assuming that these people are correct that the dead remains in the grave until they are resurrected, then there's no form of life after death and no form of contact and communication with the dead would be possible.

If people go directly to hell immediately following death, then communication with the dead would be most complicated and virtually impossible. One would assume that conditions in hell are worse than the most inhumane prison ever built by man, and that contact and communication with the living would be impossible. It is supposedly a place of burning in an "everlasting fire."

If, on the other hand, people go directly to heaven or to a third place called purgatory, then we can assume that communication with the dead, if at all possible, would be possible only with people in heaven or purgatory. But, I'm not yet aware of any medium reporting that someone cannot be contacted because he or she is in hell, or that contact has been made with someone in heaven or purgatory.

Finally, there are people who subscribe to the belief in reincarnation, where the dead continue to exist in some form until they are reborn in a new human body. Within this belief are variations: Some believe that people can reincarnate as opposite sex from a previous life. Others believe that human beings can even regress to a lower animal than man.

Irrespective of these variations in beliefs, it would appear that the concept of reincarnation would also frustrate any efforts at contacting and communicating with the dead. For example, is it possible to contact someone who has reincarnated? If such contact were possible, what effect if any, would it have on the incarnate now existing on Earth? Would such contact cease following reincarnation? These and so many other questions would suggest that the concept of reincarnation would also make impossible any form of communication with dead.

As I indicated in another book, heaven and hell exist here on Earth. We all alternate between living in hell and in heaven as we go through life. If heaven and hell do not exist as we currently conceive them, except in relation to our experiences on Earth, where exactly do we go when we die? I know, and you probably intuitive know, that death is not the ultimate end. Now, let me qualify this statement. Death is not the ultimate end in this dimension.

We have looked at the different beliefs in an attempt to find support for the possibility for contact and communication with the dead. Beliefs in heaven, hell, and reincarnation did not appear to provide such a support. We will now turn to energy to see what it has to offer.

This thought-provoking book may comfort you, intrigue you, or surprise you regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs. At the very least, it will help to explain many of the extraordinary events and mysteries we all encounter in our lives.

In Voices from Beyond: The God Force, the Other Side, and You, the author takes you on a pilgrimage to the edge of what you know and what you believe, and gently guides you to unimagined places.
